This is a unique opportunity to learn from an internationally recognized equine expert visiting Canada for a limited time. Jane Myers is an internationally-recognized expert on environmentally sustainable practices for horse farms. She has been in the horse industry in Australia and the UK for over 35 years. She is a Principal with Equiculture www.equiculture.com.au and is the author of Managing Horses on Small Properties; Horse Safe: A Complete Guide to Equine Safety; and the co-author of the new Sustainable Horsekeeping series.

Workshop topics include:

Manure Maven Training

March 6th, 2012 
LEPS will be holding a workshop to train new Manure Mavens to assist with the delivery of our province-wide Horse Manure Composting Program. Qualified applicants will join us for a training workshop at the Ministry of Agriculture in Abbotsford March 6th, 2012. Participants will receive materials and training in order to deliver the program and act as a point of contact in their community. Participants will be recive a resource binder, materials to carry out their own regional workshops and copies of the Land Management Guide for Horse Owners and Small-Lot Farmers.

Event - Educational Booth

January 20th-22nd, 2012 
Come out and visit our educational booth at the Horse Council of BC's 2nd Annual Equine Education Conference. We'll be at the Delta Hotel in Richmond all three days with our educational booth and lots of resources on Horse Manure Composting. Don't forget to pick up your copy of the Land Management Guide while you're visiting.

Students taking Equine Production and Management at the University of the Fraser Valley (Chiliwack) are being treated to a presentation by Manure Maven, Andrea Lawseth, on proper manure management. They will learn about manure management practices, waste management regulations, how easy it is to compost and compost troubleshooting. Resource materials will be provided. Accepting Horse Manure - The Answer!

August 16th, 2011 

Do you have your own trailer for hauling manure but don't know where to take it? The Answer Garden Product Ltd. located in Abbotsford, BC acceps trailer loads of horse manure free of charge. They compost all of the horse manure as well as all of the materials from the Township of Langley's newly expanded "Green Can" program. It's a good idea to call The Answer at (604)-856-6221 ahead of time to make sure they haven't reached their daily/weekly capacity.

The event is located at the Albion Fair Grounds in Maple Ridge and we'll be there Saturday 10am-9pm & Sunday 10am-5pm.
