Site Consultations

LEPS is available to conduct site consultations on farms located within the FVRD and GVRD. Consultations outside of these areas can be arranged at special fees. Site consultations include the following:

One-on-one consultation with an Agrologist
Assessment of your current manure management system
Assessment of suitability to set up a composting system
Siting of a potential composting system
Pasture assessment


service06After your site consultation you will receive a preliminary report on our findings along with suggestions on how to change your manure management system to save money, reduce waste, and improve your pastures.

Comprehensive reports are available for purchase after receiving your preliminary report. These report include more detailed information including specific siting information, compost system design and a pasture management regime.

Consultations can be tailored to suit the specific needs of your farm. Whether you have a one acre hobby farm and would like to install a small composting system or if you run a large-scale boarding facility and would like to reduce costs associated with your manure management practices LEPS can help!

Workshops/Seminars

Hosting a workshop in your area is a great way to get your neighbours interested in learning about proper manure management practices. The workshops are not only educational, but also aworkshop02 great atmosphere to learn more about how horse owners can save money and ensure their farms are in compliance with waste management regulations.

Manure: Friend, Not Foe A workshop with a broad overview of how we got to where we are, common mismanagement issues, proper management, composting basics and pasture management basics.

Building a Compost System An in-depth look at how to properly site and choose a compost system, how to install a system and how to properly manage that system.
This workshop presents a number of case studies.

Composting Wizardry A workshop focusing on how to get the most out of your composting system. Small things you can do to turn out a quality product quickly.

How Do I Manage a Pasture A workshop on the importance of good pasture management and its relation to animal health. This workshop provides a step-by-step pasture management regime focusing on using ecologically friendly pasture management.
